THE AUTHOR

When I get the question who I’m, I usually say that I was born feminist. My education has been characterized by it. The central message that was common to all my mentors was the importance of being independent, being respected for who I’m, and never accept being treated as a second-class citizen.

As a woman, I also learned to be on my guard against how I was treated in society.

This has influenced my entire life and I have lived according to these norms and lessons to ensure been treated correctly and equally.

Equality is for me something obvious and I wish it worked everywhere.

WHY I'M A WRITER...

As long as I can remember I have been interested in gender issues and human rights. This has affected my daily life, my lifestyle and my actions. It has always been in my nature to help people who got into unfair situations - from the workers at the power company where I was working as a 17-year-old, as for many employees in my years as a middle manager in the Swedish business.

Growing up in a country where women were treated, and still are treated as second-class citizens has always been latent in my mind, and in the early 1970s, when I lived in London, intensified my interest in understanding women's underlying causes of women's vulnerability. I began to inform myself about how women’s situation looked like, and it was then that I first put these thoughts down on paper, in a treatise about women's lives and injustices around the world.

Time passed and fate - I want to see it that - was that I ended up in Sweden, in a country where women and men - according to given laws - are equal. After some time I realized that even in Sweden there was a lot to do to really achieve the much talked about equality.

In some matters, Sweden was no different than any other country. I felt a need to get my thoughts on paper, and to pay attention to the domestic violence around us, every day. Paying attention to victims, but strong, women's struggle, and the children who are often forgotten, when the violence and the damage is a fact. I had no choice but to take on a challenge like this; trying to write a trilogy on this difficult subject.

MY ART

My artwork can be defined as contemporary art and it involves everything from figurative to abstract Paintings, Sculptures and Glass Art. By means of my artwork, I wish to achieve an increased inner peace and creativity throughout time.

My work is often close to nature and created in my strongest moments of inspiration. My intention is to always begin from life, then to interpret the subject matter from a deeply personal and expressionistic point of view. Therefore, here you will find a unique form of expression that hopefully will give you a moment of peace and relaxation and maybe… make you feel the unity with Mother Earth.
